We found ourselves in the most comfortable space when making this album. Our sophomore album, titled ‘Debut’ was a collection of many ideas and thoughts, thrown together with a lo-fi high fun attitude. It was heartwarming to see that it resonated with people, and it made me feel comfortable about my songs and the approach we’ve been following.
My life is chaotic. That’s probably very relatable to everyone at the moment. The lockdowns, and uncertainty led to creativity and it inspired me to revisit old ideas, old songs, and try to take a good look at what I wanted creatively.
This is the 3rd Odlaw album, and it’s all starting to feel like therapy.
Odlaw has seen a revolving roster of beautiful people come together and help me make music. At this point we are in the 6th version of the band (might be 7th by the time you read this). We’ve been through 12 band members and around 5 special guests along the way, 17 different musicians have helped me get to this point.
Some of these songs are old, some of these songs are new, some of these songs were written for different people, some of these songs are memories, some of these songs are fiction. Together it’s a group of songs that feel closer and closer to me as a person than the previous album. And i think you’ll be able to hear that.
