JESS JOCELYN’S 3rd single FOR MY SWEET PRINCESS RUBY responds to inaction

BLUE GREY PINK proudly presents:

JESS JOCELYN’S 3rd single FOR MY SWEET PRINCESS RUBY responds to inaction

For My Sweet Princess Ruby is the third single from Jess Jocelyn, written as a response to Government inaction amidst this global pandemic. Recorded and mixed by Ryan K Brennan (Phantastic Ferniture) at Tunafish Studios, with driving, fuzzy bass from Chris Grunwaldt (Yawn Vibes) and atmospheric, engulfing guitars from Blain Cunneen (Julia Jacklin). Angry, earnest and direct, inspired by the likes of The Mountain Goats, Stereophonics and Neutral Milk Hotel. FMSPR is a nostalgic nod to the infamous vessel that rolled into the shores of NSW in 2020, with a few ship and storm metaphors to shape and hopefully help weather this mess we’re still in.

Jess Jocelyn is the name of the ever-changing solo project of Boorloo-based artist Jess Nyanda Moyle. Born in Hong Kong, raised in Northern Perth (where all the suburbs look the same) the 2nd gen Filipina/Australian migrant writes stories about home, identity and healing. Influenced by the likes of Mitski, Paul Kelly, Tracey Chapman and Phoebe Bridgers Jess tells her stories through lyric-led, almost sickeningly catchy folk-pop-rock.
