Originating from the silky smog of the Kalamunda hills, this four-piece spare no detail sharing the tale of suburban summers, filled with plenty of twangy guitars, shuffling rhythms and destructive youth.
Following their 2020 3-track release ‘Always Blue’ and 2019’s debut 13-track album ‘Forever is Too Long’, Veronica (vocals + guitar), Lachy (guitar), Daniel (bass) and Brody (drums) keep to a similar formula of creating things that are sweet or dolce, with a hint on melancholia or blue. SUMMERWAVE is no exception. This indie-pop anthem, much like many toxic relationships has the gritty stench of heartache, with enough delightful pop hooks to keep you coming back for more.
With ‘TV’ making #53 on RTRFM’s most played songs of 2020, ‘Nobody Asked’ getting airplay on Triple J Unearthed, and a steadily growing live following under their belt, this four-piece are up and coming within the local Perth music community that they love so dearly.
